Paul Revere Williams is one of greatest architects of the 20th century & a trailblazer as the first Black architect to become a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 1923. He defined the glamorous look & feel of Los Angeles & created 2,500 buildings in his lifetime, even in the midst of the racism & prejudices he faced. He actively worked to offset racial prejudices & made considerable effort to be considered as an individual and even learned how to make blueprints upside down to accommodate white clients that were uncomfortable being next to him. He made the homes of many celebrities, from Frank Sinatra to Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz, as well as the Beverly Hills Hotel, the futuristic Theme Building at LAX, various hospitals, churches and more. His work stood out in innovation, elegance, beauty & grace & attracted people with wealth & taste.

The photographed original will not be on sale until March 2024, but prints are. Please select the print size you want.
